The New Button User Test in Setting Page
We have designed and implemented new style fonts and buttons on the setting page:
- All words and buttons in the setting pagehave been redeveloped, so we need to run a user evaluation test to gain feedback for the new design.
- In addition, the new font style and colour of buttons are supposed to be better related to the topic of the game that expresses a tense and exciting atmosphere.
This user test is to get enough feedback to improve our design.
Our survey is divided into two parts:
- Potential target population:
- We invite them to watch the prototype of the new setting page;
- After the demonstration, we interviewed a few questions about their feeling when seeing the new style and layout of words and buttons.
- Professional developer/designer:
- Show them the prototype;
- Ask them questions about the layout and font setting of the setting page;
- To collect some suggestions from them.
- An additional SUS evaluation is run for this sprint's work.
- Evaluators are invited to fill a SUS form.
- In terms of the details:
Q1: There are 3 of 4 evaluators who choose Strongly Agree and 1 chooses to Agree.
Q2: There are 2 of 4 evaluators who choose Strongly Agree and 2 choose Netural.
Q3: All 4 evaluators choose Netural.
Q4: All 4 evaluators choose Strongly Agree.
Q5: There are 2 of 4 evaluators who choose Agree, 1 choose Netural and 1 choose Disagree.
Q6: There are 1 of 4 evaluators who choose Agree, 2 choose Netural and 1 choose Disagree.
- Most evaluators feel natural with this change in terms of playability and enjoyability, probably because this change affects the setting page.
- Only a few evaluators agree that this change is necessary.
- All evaluators strongly agree that this change closer cooperate with the game's emotional goal, probably because we use pixel style fonts and background.
- Our participants highly rated the change in style and font on the setting page.
- The additional System Usability Scale evaluation helps us better understand how our users enjoy the design.
- Since we have reached the end of the semester and no further development will happen on this feature, there is no need to gain more improvement suggestions for this feature.
- We thank every participant who has joined our user testing evaluation.
