Notes

• Issue 250 - Remove Fortran interfaces
• PR 255 removes Fortran from the Spec
• Community to go and see changes introduced

Side effects :

• Removal of Fortran examples will leave certain API without any example codes
• Should be fine as they don’t compile/work correctly
• Language throughout the spec needs to be checked as it refers to multiple programming languages

PR 256 – Adds an additional document to introduce Fortran bindings

• Could have individual documents for different languages or single doc.
• Not a part of the official standard

Brief discussion on Manju’s proposal for smarter shmem_malloc

• Naveen’s proposal is still relevant (#159) but may have some performance implications
• Hints can be ignored
• Worst case behavior will not be any worse than what we have today
