Preparation

Updating Local Software

To work with the secondary dates review quick fixes, first verify your software and HSG project settings are up-to-date.

  1. In oXygenXML, use the External Tools dropdown menu (i.e., the green triangle icon on the toolbar) to select Generate troubleshooting report [Also available via the oXygen menu bar: Tools > External Tools > Generate troubleshooting report]
  1. In GitHub, navigate to hsg-project as current repository and fetch any updates from origin.

  1. If you had oXygenXML open, please quit the program and then restart it to make sure any project changes took.

Configuring Validation Scenarios

To work with the secondary dates review quick fixes, first verify your validation scenario is properly configured to accept both the frus.sch and dates-secondary-review.sch files.

  1. In oXygenXML, move to the lefthand project pane, right click on `hsg-project/repos/frus/volumes"
  • Select Validate
  • Select Configure Validation Scenario(s)...

  1. Under Project, select FRUS TEI + Secondary Review of Dates

  1. Select one, more than one, or all FRUS volumes to validate
  • Right-click and select Validate > Validate with Schema

  • Choose file:/.../repos/frus/schema/dates-only-secondary-review.sch

  1. When you click on an error message in the batch validation screen, the file for the parent volume should open. You should see blue tick marks on the right to indicate information messages triggered by particular sections of the XML.

(Please note: Upon human review, not all messages will be actionable. For this reason, the alerts are categorized as informational messages and not warnings.)

Now, you are ready to perform secondary review of dates within your chosen set of FRUS volumes.
