Data storage and required space

Data folder

Mizuu downloads various content to your device, so it's always available for instant usage and offline usage.

The data folder is located at /Android/data/com.miz.mizuu/files/ on your default storage partition - that's usually your internal storage, although it'll be the external storage on certain devices.

It's not currently possible to change the location of the data folder.

Data folder contains the following sub-folders:

  • app_cache: For various cached stuff, i.e. your Trakt profile picture
  • movie-backdrops: For movie backdrop images.
  • movie-thumbs: For movie and collection thumbnail images.
  • offline_storage: For offline content, i.e. video files.
  • tvshows-backdrops: For TV show backdrop images.
  • tvshows-episodes: For TV show episode images.
  • tvshows-seasons: For TV show season images.
  • tvshows-thumbs: For TV show thumbnail images.

The contents of the sub-folders are not indexed by Android's built-in media indexer, so it won't appear in your gallery or photos application. Also, the data folder is deleted automatically if you uninstall the application.

Required available storage space

Images are always downloaded in a resolution that best matches the device.

If you are using a high resolution device, Mizuu will download high resolution images, but it'll settle for lower resolution images if you are using a device with a lower resolution display.

On average, Mizuu will need ~1.5 megabytes of available storage space per movie (cover(s) and backdrop image) if you are using the application on a high resolution device.

TV shows generally use just as much storage space for the cover and backdrop image, but require an additional ~1 megabyte per season.

These numbers will be significantly lower on a low resolution device.
