Welcome to the J-ATC-Simulator wiki!

J-ATC-Simulator is in Java implemented simulator of approach air traffic controller. It should be a quite complex simulation including airplane switching, full holding support, complex command support -- all this in comparison with lite and easy-to-play ATC simulating games.

At this wiki, you can aim at two different areas:

Features

Implemented

  • Switching from CTR -> APP -> TWR for arrivals or back from departures.
  • Landings under TWR control, go-arounds.
  • Landings in bad weather, unstabilized or lost visual contact -> go around.
  • Holding over fixes, including published holds. All three entering patterns supported.
  • IAS vs GS simulation, wind effect.
  • Complex commands with conditions (eg. when passing fix, descend and go to another one).
  • FL100 airplane 250kts speed restriction
  • Modularity - areas, airports, traffic, radar display settings in XML files, configurable, extendable.
  • Separation checking
  • Real weather downloading
  • Emergencies
  • Runway closing for checks/snow removal
  • Diverts

Scheduled

  • Parallel runway/multi-runway support
  • Statistics and scoring (partially done)
  • Weather (storms) effects & avoiding
