Project Abstract

This application is a response to Move Smart Contract Pallet RFP.

We want to provide a Substrate system pallet that allows to deploy and interact with Smart Contracts written in the Move language, by providing a Move Virtual Machine (MoveVM) as a pallet. This is the first part of a 3 steps development plan.

This pull request is a resubmission consequent to the discussion which took place in a previous pull request.

Thanks for the application, and sorry for the late reply here. Could you change the file name and add ".md" at the end? This way, it will be easier for others to review the application.

Could @MeerKatDev also sign the terms and conditions? Usually, everyone who contributed to the PR needs to sign them.

Btw. some of the formattings still seems to be off. I recommend for example removing aside and fixing the formatting of the milestone table, see below:

Moro. Happy to support this. Just one minor request below.

Also, if you are working towards a common goods parachain, I think it makes more sense to move to treasury funding after the grant. But happy to discuss then.

@MeerKatDev thanks, this looks interesting. I noticed that your team code repos don't belong to the Eiger organisation. That's generally fine, but I was wondering if you could provide some context on Eiger's role in the development of each of these projects. For example, was Eiger the sole implementor, or a main contributor? Or was it only some bugfixes or specific features that you contributed? Feel free to directly update the proposal.

Thank you for the question @takahser. Let me clarify: Eiger is part of the Equilibrium Group (website). We have been working under the Equilibrium brand for the past 4 years and only last year created the Eiger brand to focus on implementation engineering. Eiger/EQ was one of the main contributors in all of these endeavours.

Congratulations and welcome to the Web3 Foundation Grants Program! Please refer to our Milestone Delivery repository for instructions on how to submit milestones and invoices, our FAQ for frequently asked questions and the support section of our README for more ways to find answers to your questions.

Before you start, take a moment to read through our announcement guidelines for all communications related to the grant or make them known to the right person in your organisation. In particular, please don't announce the grant publicly before at least the first milestone of your project has been approved. At that point or shortly before, you can get in touch with us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to collaborate on an announcement about the work you’re doing.

Lastly, please remember to let us know in case you run into any delays or deviate from the deliverables in your application. You can either leave a comment here or directly request to amend your application via PR. We wish you luck with your project! 🚀
