# Techism2 ## Setting up Development Environment * Install Python 2.5 (only Python Version supported by AppEngine) * Install Appengine SDK for Python * See http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/gettingstarted/devenvironment.html for details. ## Checkout Source * Read-Only access: git clone git://github.com/cko/techism2.git * Read-Write access: git clone [email protected]:cko/techism2.git ## Run Tests: ```sh ./manage.py test techism2 ``` ## Start the Development Server ```sh $ cd techism2 $ ./manage.py runserver ``` The following URLs are available: * Main application: [[http://localhost:8000/]] * Admin application: [[http://localhost:8000/admin/]] * Development console: [[http://localhost:8000/_ah/admin]] * Dummy Login: [[http://localhost:8000/_ah/login]] ## Settings The following settings are required and must be added to the techism_settings table * SECRET_KEY - the Django secret key, used to override the one defined in settings.py * default_url - the http URL (http://www.techism.de), used to create URLs in twitter feed * secure_url - the https URL (https://techism2.appspot.com), used for redirect to SSL when entering the login page * event_review_mail_from - sender mail address used for the event review mail, must be a gmail address * event_review_mail_to - comma-separated list of receivers of the event review mail * twitter_access_key - Twitter OAuth token * twitter_access_secret - Twitter OAuth token * twitter_consumer_key - Twitter OAuth token * twitter_consumer_secret - Twitter OAuth token ## Update Third-Party Libraries: ### django-nonrel (9085:d578c187d733) ```sh $ hg clone http://bitbucket.org/wkornewald/django-nonrel $ cp -a django-nonrel/django <path-to-techism2> ``` Carefully delete unused modules: ```sh rm -rf test rm -rf utils/unittest/ find . -type d -name "tests" | xargs rm -rf cd contrib && rm -rf webdesign localflavour comments databrowse flatpages formtools gis humanize markup redirects sitemaps && cd .. cd db/backends && rm -rf mysql oracle postgresql sqlite3 && cd .. cd conf/locale && ls | grep -v "de$" | grep -v "en$" | grep -v "__init__.py" | xargs rm -rf && cd .. ``` ### djangoappengine (117:cf992e9c916f) ```sh $ hg clone http://bitbucket.org/wkornewald/djangoappengine $ cp -a djangoappengine <path-to-techism2> $ rm -rf <path-to-techism2>/.hg* ``` ### djangotoolbox (154:3ea35d37a2b7) ```sh $ hg clone http://bitbucket.org/wkornewald/djangotoolbox $ cp -a djangotoolbox/djangotoolbox <path-to-techism2> ``` ### gaeauth (0:38772f617369) ```sh $ hg clone http://bitbucket.org/fhahn/django-gaeauth $ cd django-gaeauth $ zip -r gaeauth.zip gaeauth $ cp gaeauth.zip <path-to-techism2>/zip-packages/gaeauth.zip ``` ### django_openid_auth (version 0.3) Download django-openid-auth-X.Y.tar.gz from https://launchpad.net/django-openid-auth ```sh $ tar -xvzf django-openid-auth-X.Y.tar.gz $ cd django-openid-auth-X.Y $ zip -r django-openid-auth.zip django-openid-auth $ cp django-openid-auth.zip <path-to-techism2>/zip-packages/django-openid-auth.zip ``` ### geapytz (version 2010l) Download gaepytz-YYYYX.tar.gz from http://pypi.python.org/pypi/gaepytz ```sh $ tar -xvzf gaepytz-YYYYX.tar.gz $ cp -a gaepytz-YYYYX/pytz <path-to-techism2> ``` ### html5lib (1641:b9d3898c665b) ```sh $ hg clone https://html5lib.googlecode.com/hg/ html5lib $ cd html5lib/python $ zip -r html5lib.zip html5lib $ cp html5lib.zip <path-to-techism2>/zip-packages/html5lib.zip ``` ### python-openid (version 2.2.5) Download python-openid-X.Y.Z.tar.gz from http://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-openid ```sh $ tar -xvzf python-openid-X.Y.Z.tar.gz $ cd python-openid-X.Y.Z $ zip -r openid.zip openid $ cp openid.zip <path-to-techism2>/zip-packages/openid.zip ``` ### tweepy (59f6634aa0cd365af0c0f2d94dd7e95627ac229a) Nice tutorial: http://jeffmiller.github.com/2010/05/31/twitter-from-the-command-line-in-python-using-oauth ```sh $ git clone git://github.com/joshthecoder/tweepy.git $ cd tweepy $ zip -r tweepy.zip tweepy $ cp tweepy.zip <path-to-techism2>/zip-packages/tweepy.zip ``` ## Deployment to App Engine (devel): ```sh ./manage.py deploy ``` ## Deployment to App Engine (prod): ```sh ./manage.py proddeploy ```
