grabserial is a small program which reads a serial port and writes the data to standard output. The main purpose of this tool is to collect messages written to the serial console from a target board running Linux, and save the messages on a host machine. Also, this program allows for putting timestamps on each line of input from the serial port, as well as for detecting patterns in the input stream.

Please see the elinux wiki page at: http://elinux.org/Grabserial for more documentation about this program.
