Snappy Ubuntu is a cloud operating system that Subutai Social and all it's components are based on. The key aspects which helped us to choose Snappy as our base operating system are cloud and multi-platform orientation and robust security model.

“Ubuntu Core provides transactional updates with rigorous application isolation. This is the smallest, safest Ubuntu ever, on devices and on the cloud. We’re excited to unleash a new wave of developer innovation with snappy Ubuntu Core!”

Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Ubuntu and Canonical.

Subutai Social system components sticks to Snappy's world model and uses such important features as read-only rootfs, package's security profiles, transactional updates, etc. Moreover, considering Snappy's multi-platform focus, we have managed to successfully run our product on different ARM-based platforms which is definitely very critical step for SS future.
