How to Use Venue

Login

Select "Login with RPI"; you will be taken to the Central Authentication Service page. Enter your RPI credentials if you are a RPI student. Other users with non RPI account should login using Custom Login.

Dashboard

Here you will find all ongoing and upcoming lectures as well as synchronous and asynchronous lectures. Lecture information varies depending on your role in the class. Clicking on the bold lecture type label will expand the that lecture type to fill the entire screen. Re-click the same bold label will un-expand to get back the original dashboard.

Student

You are able to join meeting and scan a QR code during the live event. If you are attending asynchronously, you may watch the attached video to acquire the text attendance code.

Instructor/TA

Instructors and TAs can create new lectures for sections, delete course, edit course (make a new section, make section publicly joinable, and edit course details) within a course, and view course and section statistics.

Calendar

Displays current and upcoming lectures in a week-time format. Lectures can be clicked on the calendar to take users to the lecture page. Can click arrows on the upper right to traverse to different weeks.

Courses

Select from the dropdown which of your courses you would like to view.

Student

Lists all current lectures and your attendance for that day.

Instructor/TA

Lists all current sections and lectures with overall attendance for each. Buttons allow for you to

  • Copy link to join class
  • Create new lecture for class
  • View attendance statistics
  • Delete the course from Venue If you view statistics, you will be able to select the course, section, and lecture and view its attendance graph. There are toggle filters for polls, cumulative for all lectures, and "half" for specific types of lectures.

Profile

You can change your name, view the email used to log into Venue, change the website theme to dark mode, and log out. Users are able to teach a new course using the appropriate button, which takes them to a page to enter the name of the course, the prefix/dept, and the suffix/number. After creating a course, they are able to see it under the Courses tab in the dropdown menu.
