check_perccli

Nagios/Opsview plugin to check status of PowerEdge RAID Controller

The script connects via SSH to a machine with an installed PERC card, runs PERCCLI utility then parses its output.

If you spot a problem or have an improvement idea then feel free to open an issue and I will be glad to look into it for you.

Installation

The machine which is being monitored needs to have PERCCLI (successor to MegaCLI) installed. It's a command line tool to manage and monitor Dell RAID controllers. The utility is available for VMware, Linux and Windows systems.

The script check_perccli is normally copied to Nagios/Opsview plugins directory (/usr/local/nagios/libexec/).

Usage

Sample output - no issues detected:

$ check_perccli -H esxi01.example.com -p password
OK - C0: Optimal, PD0: Onln, PD1: Onln, PD2: Onln, PD3: Onln, PD4: Onln, PD5: Onln, VD0: Optl, VD1: Optl, BBU: Optimal
$ echo $?
0

Sample output - drive rebuilding, virtual drive degraded:

$ check_perccli -H esxi01.example.com -p password
WARNING - C0: Optimal, PD0: Onln, PD1: Rbld, PD2: Onln, PD3: Onln, PD4: Onln, PD5: Onln, VD0: Dgrd, VD1: Optl, BBU: Optimal
$ echo $?
1
