- the software is provided 'as is' without any guarantees
- currently all libraries are contained in header files. 
  the header files can be picked up from the include directory after running 'make'
  or directly from the libs/xxx/include directories
- test programs are located under 'src/tests' and are useful for testing the utilities

- 'general-tools': contains a stop watch class using boost::chrono
- 'type-utils': a type utilities header file dealing mostly with index lists and tuples
- 'occi-tools': a utility header file making Oracle OCCI access simple

- organise test programs for boost::asio queue extension better
