Visualizar 15 MediaLab Prado

Hello world This is work in progress. This is a spin-off of our current project at Visualizar15 The seismometer. We have local elections on 24 May 2015. It is about current mayors.

We have had access to an xls file with the names of all mayors in each of 947 Catalan towns from the first (1979-1983) to the current legislature (started in 2011). We are planning to visualize who has been in power from the longest to the shortest (9, 8, 7... terms in office), from which party and what else they are doing (are they involved in any business activity?) SR is in the process of finding out who these veteran mayors are, building an excel file with info about each of them. The idea is to write an article about them.

CGB is mentoring projects and helping us with visualizations for this part. You will soon find them on our webpage.

Unfortunately, this is how the list of local election candidates is published in Spain - for example, only for the province of Barcelona there are 14 different PDFs, one per circumscription. There are no lists in open machine-readable format. So far we won't be able to match current mayors to candidates at a large scale. local election candidates
