The Status of ppxlib's Transition

We are currently following a multi-step plan to keep the PPX ecosystem up-to-date without the need for coordination with the compiler devs. You can find that plan's contents and its current status on our wiki page about it. We are keeping that wiki page up-to-date.

Furthermore, there are some discuss.ocaml.org posts about the transition reflecting the situation at the time they were written:

• In June 2020, @jeremiedimino explained how OMP2 would look like and what the OMP major release would imply
• In August 2020, @jeremiedimino announced the upcoming OMP2 release and pointed out what the next steps would be
• In February 2021, @NathanReb announced the release of the ppxlib version containing the AST bump to 4.12 and explained our workflow of sending patch PRs to PPXs we'd break
• July 2021: @pitag-ha is about to summarize the transition in detail and give an update on its state
