Last python2-only release

This release incorporates all up-to-date pending changes.
This is the last release that supports only python2.
The goal is to freeze current stable state for python2 users.

CHANGES:

• added testsuite, including docker support
• issue 55 (#55) was fixed
• misc issues in spec files fixed
• minor fixes in documentation
