Hi! 👋 I'm Mariana Vivas, a data scientist and physicist, with a strong passion for machine learning, data science, and open science.
I originally ventured into the world of data science during my final project, where I used machine learning to search for new physics in simulated LHC data. This sparked my interest and led me to further my knowledge.
In the past, I completed a comprehensive bootcamp at Henry's, where I honed my skills in Python, SQL, Docker, PowerBI, and machine learning. You can check out the various projects I completed during the bootcamp:
Team project:
Individual projects:
- ETL with python and MySQL
- Machine learning model to classify real state data
- Data analysis of plane crashes since 1908
Since then, I've expanded my scope and worked in the financial sector where I develop data-driven models to enhance tax collection in San Salvador. My work primarily involved:
- Developing a predictive model for tax defaulters
- Classifying real estate taxes into high, normal, and low categories
- Creating a model to predict taxpayer payments for upcoming months
Currently, I am working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), enabling open science in data from ATLAS.
I'm constantly seeking out new challenges and always eager to learn more in the vast world of data science. Feel free to explore my work and reach out with any potential opportunities or collaborations!
