This project is an Android app for a project which will help record, analyze and report water quality information. It first records the location and other information about water samples taken. The water samples are then put on a petri-film as part of the Portable Microbiology Lab (PML) and incubated. The Android app then takes a picture of the petri-film and accurately counts and analyse the bacteria colonies present. This information is uploaded to a central server, giving an up-to-date and reliable water quality information for a region.

Lab trials of the PML and app are scheduled for April 2012 and field trials for June/July 2012.
