BDSIM version 1.7.7.develop program for radiation transport in accelerators

Installation

Regularly tested on:

  • OS: Linux (RHEL9, Alma9, Ubuntu 20,22, 24), Mac OS 13 onwards
  • Architecture: x86_64, ARM64
  • Compiler: GCC 8,9,11,13, Clang 12-15 (fully C++ 11 compliant)

System requirements:

  • compiler with C++11 support
  • CMake 3.5 or higher
  • BISON
  • CLHEP (recommended version > 2.3.3.0 - check with Geant4 version)
  • FLEX
  • Geant4 versions Geant4.10 or greater (10.4.3, 10.7.2, 11.2.0 recommended) or latest patch version recommended of any 10.X version.
  • ROOT 6

Optional:

  • OpenGL / QT5 (for interactive visualiser)
  • XercesC3 (for GDML)

To compile, see http://www.pp.rhul.ac.uk/bdsim/manual/installation.html

   %  mkdir build
   %  cd build
   %  cmake ../bdsim
   %  make
   %  make install

Getting Started

To run:

    bdsim [options]

for example:

    bdsim --file=line.gmad

to see the full list of options:

    bdsim --help

Some input examples are available in ./examples/ directory. For more details consult documentation on http://www.pp.rhul.ac.uk/bdsim/manual/
