A critical core update has been released and the team is asking Router Hosting Providers to update immediately without delay.

If this critical core update is not applied Router will halt operations.

Router 2022.04.27.2

The core team has released the latest version to production. Changes include merging the code for XOR filter fee reduction, however it has not been activated as the vote is still ongoing. For more information check the HIP.

In addition, the ability for the backend to detect “bad actors” (Hotspots that don’t send packets) was included and the team improved usability for the Console Export feature, and added a memo field for Data Credit receipts.

Router 2022.04.14.3

The core team has tagged Router 2022.04.14.3 as a mandatory release and is ready for general availability.

This release will allow the approved HIP 55 https://github.com/helium/HIP/blob/main/0055-validator-challenges.md chain variable to be activated and prepare for the activation of Light Hotspots.

We request Router Hosting Providers to upgrade to 2022.04.14.3 by 2022-05-11 00:00 UTC for Light Hotspot chain variable support and help ensure the network can continue normal operations.

This is an out-of-band release to provide open-source providers more time to upgrade.
