1st alpha release

this is the first official release. Nothing specific to say at this early stage; most unit tests should work on all supported platforms (that is, Linux and Windows).

NOTE: Windows users could try the executable installer in the release folder under the Yarp directory.

NOTE: contributors should read the INSTALL file in the Yarp directory for help on setting things up for development.
