How to generate Verilator coverage reports

I noticed that there are hooks for Verilator coverage but I do not see how to run it. How do we run the Verilator_coverage tool with rocket?

What hooks are you referring to? By hooks, do you mean the use of the cover object from Property.scala?

Right. The ccover method in the PLIC that is used through the soc.

AFAIW (I may be wrong here), the actual utility of these custom cover statements isn't upstreamed to open-source RC since the default property library in Property.scala doesn't do anything with the cover properties / conditions. I imagine there could be an example floating around how to emit these into verilog but I haven't seen anything within RC.

One idea would be to try replacing RC's cover with chisel3's cover: https://github.com/chipsalliance/chisel3/blob/v3.5.3/core/src/main/scala/chisel3/VerificationStatement.scala#L188
