@damccorm - I accidentally pushed to the master branch. I apologize for that. I thought I would not have the permissions to do that.
@robertwb - I wanted to send a PR to review this. Sending this as an after the fact unfortunately.

No worries, this LGTM anyways.
Yeah, I think we chose not to force pull requests to allow some of our automation to work correctly - there might be a better way to do it, but there wasn't using Apache's tooling last time I checked
