Extension Updates
You can get to this page by clicking Overview, Extension Updates in the main menu.
This page allows you to see all the updates available for all Joomla! extensions and WordPress plugins and themes across all sites you can currently manage in Panopticon. You can filter the available updates by site, CMS version, PHP version, software name, and software author.
To schedule the installation of updates check the box to the left of each available update you want installed, then click on the Update Selected button in the toolbar.
ℹ️ You also schedule automatic, periodic extension, plugin, and theme updates report generation per site. You can find this feature in the Site Overview page of each site under Automations, Scheduled Update Summary.
There are many cases where you don't want updates to be automatically installed without doing some testing first, to make sure nothing breaks. After you complete the testing on one site and find everything to be working fine, you may be now left with dozens or hundreds of sites which need an update to that software. It would be very inconvenient trying to remember which sites these are, go into each one of them, and click on the update button for the extension. Therefore, having a place where you can do that en masse helps a lot.
Obviously, if you are auto-updating all extensions across all sites, or you simply not have all that many sites, this feature may not be of any use to you. That's okay. You can just not use this feature. Remember, Akeeba Panopticon is mass-distributed software; it's meant to cater for a multitude of use cases, not just a specific user's use case.
