Sandbox3 Order Fleet

Give orders to a group of CpuShips.

+Select Fleet

The select ship function needs rework. I don't recommend using it.
The idea was to number or name the fleets as they got spawned so that they could be ordered around later. I followed this until I discovered the mouse commands. For reference:
Right click empty space = fly towards that point, attacking any enemies discovered along the way, defend the point upon arrival.
Right click friendly station = dock with station.
Right click friendly vessel = defend that vessel.
Right click enemy vessel or station = attack enemy vessel or station.
Shift right click empty space = fly to that point, ignore enemies, defend the point upon arrival (useful for retreat from combat).
Shift right click friendly station = defend that station.
I may come back and revisit this in the future.

  • List of buttons: one for each fleet spawned: Label: fleet number and the call sign of one ship in the fleet

+Reorganize Fleet

The reorganize fleet function needs rework. I don't recommend using this function. The idea is to create new fleets out of residual fleets and order them. I may revisit this in the future.

+Average Impulse

This feature takes the ships in the fleet, averages the max speed of their impulse engines, then sets the max impulse speed of all the ships in the fleet to the calculated average impulse speed. The intent is to get the ships to mostly stay together in flight.

  • Selected ships
Average the impulse speed of the selected ships.
  • List of buttons: one for each fleet spawned: Label: fleet number and the call sign of one ship in the fleet
Averaging impulse speed by fleet name needs work, I don't recommend using it. This falls into the incomplete category along with +Select Fleet and +Reorganize Fleet.

Set Player Fleet

This takes the selected ships and gives them a fleet name (the next letter of the alphabet). No boundary checking yet, so if you do more than 26 fleets, you may run into issues. Useful for friendly fleets that you wish for Relay to direct. You'll get a GM message confirming the fleet and its name and reminding you to set the fleet up with sandbox comms: Tweak Terrain > Sandbox Comms. I have not fully automated the addition of sandbox comms yet because I don't know how often this will be used and I don't have something that unsets sandbox comms yet.

Set Singly Scanned

This takes the selected ships and sets them to already be single scanned for the Human Navy. Useful for friendly fleets. Could save some time and unnecessary scanning for the players when in the heat of combat with other priorities.

Set Fully Scanned

This takes the selected ships and sets them to already be double scanned for the Human Navy. Useful for friendly fleets and friendly defense platforms. Could save some time and unnecessary scanning for the players when in the heat of combat with other priorities.
