I have been using xrpld-cli standalone a lot lately.
I would be very happy to see flexibility in xrpld-cli in the future.

Currently we can only do tests related to xahau, but it would be nice to be able to specify the xrpld version (1.2.0,2.0.0) and branch name (develop,master) in the cli.

I did some development on this type of solution. It's here https://github.com/Transia-RnD/xrpld-network-gen. Unfortunately its only in python for now. The issue is that to use specific version you have to have that build somewhere. I have an app that can make these builds but right now its not a priority. https://thelab.transia.co. I will continue to work on this so that you can specify just the version and branch and it will build but that would also mean that you might have to wait 15 mins for the build to complete if there is no build version available. So I will have to look at how we want to do that.

Right now though you can grab any of the images from thelab and use them in the netgen. Reach out to me on mm if you have any issues. I will try to update the documentation. I think Ripple is also working on something similar and may have a better solution. Check it out here: https://pypi.org/project/claudia/

This is not about Hooks but about the issue of Evernode HP not being able to develop on macos.
