Instead of using the Uberspace Dashboard, you can also manually add your public key to the file ``~/.ssh/authorized_keys`` on your Uberspace. You can open the file on your Uberspace with a simple text editor and add a new line with the content (aka your public key) to it.
To do this, you need access via ssh (using an :doc:`ssh password <howto_ssh>` or using an already configured ssh key).

If you edit the file ``~/.ssh/authorized_keys`` manually, be careful not to delete or modify the first entry
