Introduction

This project provides layers to integrate neural network information into costmaps in the ROS navigation stack. At the moment, there is only one such layer, the segmentation layer. However, there is enormous opportunity in leveraging the power of deep learning alongside that of ROS. This is still early work, so this project is provided as a starting point for further exploration and research. See our page on opportunities for future work for some ideas on what else to explore in this area (and feel free to contribute ideas of your own).
