Initial setup
Use your regular Gaspar account to log in to the Zeiss computer.
When you first log in the PC will set up your user profile and everything else, just a little patience.
Open micromanager from the program files menu or search for it with the search bar (or windows+S).
When you first launch micromanager it will ask you for your name, organization and email. You can put whatever you want here. It doesn't matter.
Once that is done and every future time you launch micromanager you are greeted with the following screen
Under the point "Hardware Configuration File" you click the 3 dots and navigate to the following file path:
C:\Program Files\Micro-Manager-2.0\231031_ZeissAxioObserver7
You can also find the current configuration file in this repository
From this point on Micromanager will always startup with this configuration file selected.
Theoretically VisiView is set up for all users already but in order to get access to all the illumination configurations you have to copy/paste the user specific configurations into your own user folder for VisiView.
You can find all the configurations at this file path:
\\lebsrv2.epfl.ch\LEB_SHARED\SHARED\_Lab members\Julius\Zeiss stuff\Visitron Systems
Copy this folder into your AppData\Local folder:
C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local
If you've never opened VisiView before this will just copy the files over. In case you opened VisiView before then say yes to replacing existing files in order to overwrite the basic configuration with the proper configuration.
You should be all good to go now.
If you don't need the FRAP laser you don't have to turn on the box labelled (2 optional). You will see a warning when launching VisiView saying the component Toptica wasn't found. You can ignore this and VisiView will work just fine.
The macro bar on the right of the VisiView window is currently not usable but I may set it up if I find the time.
