Getting Started

These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes. You can also visit the repo's site to run the application.

Note: All data is stored locally in your browser's cache and is only used to send requests to the OpenAI API. No other data is collected, sent elsewhere, or stored.

Prerequisites

Before running the application, make sure you have Node.js installed on your system, which comes with npm. npm is used to install the http-server, a simple zero-configuration command-line HTTP server.

# Install Node.js and npm from https://nodejs.org/

# Verify the installation of Node.js
node -v

# Verify the installation of npm
npm -v

Installation

Follow these steps to get your development environment running:

  1. Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/DavidBradbury/tts-assistant.git

  2. Install http-server globally

    npm install --global http-server
  3. Start the application

    From the project directory, run:

    http-server -o
