fix: change gatewayType comparisons to lowercase

Overview/Summary

There is a known problem in the hubNetworking module with gatewayType comparisons.

This PR fixes/adds/changes/removes

1. change all gatewayType comparisons in the hubNetworking module to use the toLower() function
