Up LimitNOFILE in systemd definition #45

for a temporary workaround, place the following in /etc/systemd/system/couchdb.d/override.conf:

[Service]
LimitNOFILE=102400

Should parametrize this via attributes.rb, as well as provide an override for the init.d type script.
