  • This would allow WaterTAP-agnostic packages to use any of the solvers currently in watertap.core.plugins.solvers as a dependency without depending on watertap as a whole
  • The primary use case is to let reaktoro-pse use cyipopt

Planned next steps

  • Discuss implications/tradeoffs
  • Make go/no-go decision
  • Create watertap-org/watertap-solvers repository for testing/development
  • Remove relevant code from watertap-org/watertap (if we decide to go through with this)
