Background

My virtual server joomla.quantumwarp.com DNS is controlled by the parent quantumwarp.com

the issue

if i go to joomla.quantumwarp.com --> DNS Settings --> DNS Records

image

the Reset Records will reset the parents DNS.

proposed solution(s)

when a virtual server's DNS is controlled by the parent:

  1. DNS Settings --> DNS Records should either be disabled/hidden (this option keeps inline with DNS DKIM Record and DNS Options)
  2. DNS Settings --> DNS Records visible only to show a message saying to go to the parent to control this. Nothing else should be configurable here.
  3. Hide the Reset button

Hmmm ... seems like it's reasonable to allow a reset in this case, but it should only reset the sub-domain's DNS records in the parent domain's zone.
