How to load the module for virtio-gpu-gl-pci in the initial ramdisk?

I am using Whonix, which leaves out much modern stuff apparently. I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the module and how to add it to the initramfs image.

Right now the boot menu is obnoxiously slow to draw and has an error about no suitable video mode found. My guess is that the video driver is not loaded in the kernel image, as it works fine once it is booted.

Any thoughts?
