Inverted Scroll direction for Mouse and TrackPad - Windows 11 ARM - Mac M1 - UTM

Hi,

I just install windows 11 ARM on M1 Mac with UTM. Works WONDERFUL. But I really need to revert the scroll directions and it seems impossible. I have tried many alternatives from the Internet but all of them didn't work on UTM VM.

For information: There isn't TOUCHPAD option under Windows Bluetooth settings.

I have found the registry of my mouse and trackpad on windows 11 using this technique https://www.windowscentral.com/how-reverse-scrolling-direction-windows-10
But there isn't an option to update the scroll directions.

Please, let me know what I need to do for reverse scroll directions.

I can't find the invert scroll mouse in the input setting. I'm using the latest UTM version. Can you give me an alternative solution? Thanks

I had the same problem and couldn't find the invert scroll mouse setting under Input settings, but in the issue linked by @davidmarble, someone said that they have moved the setting to global settings of UTM. I found it there and worked after checking off "Invert scrolling"

I can't find that global settings?
Edit: you must press "command" and "comma" to enter the global settings. There you will see 'invert scrolling' and check it. I really relieved to use windows like mac

if your guest OS is Ubuntu ，you can find this , it's work for me.

Hi, this doesn't work for me. No matter if I check / uncheck this, scrolling is always not inverted. On latest sonoma macos with a latest sonoma macos virtual machine. And UTM 4.4.4

Sorry for this method is not suitable for your situation. I only test it on windows and ubuntu.

It seems very cool to install macos vm using utm. Maybe I'll give it a shot myself sometime.

I figured out a solution.

In UTM, Change your MacOS VM's Settings > Virtualisation, and set Pointer to Generic Mouse.
Then you can access MacOS's Mouse System Prefs and change the scroll direction as you wish

This works but makes the touchpad a bit weird to use. Reverting back the settings fixes the touchpad and it also remembers the system prefs, so in a weird way it works by setting the settings to generic mouse, modifying the prefs inside the VM and then reverting the pointer to touchpad.

No idea for how to do it in Windows, but I see a lot of problem reports above regarding scroll direction for MacOS guests as well.

To toggle mouse scroll direction on a MacOS VM guest - despite System Settings not showing Trackpad options:

Just run:

$ defaults write -g com.apple.swipescrolldirection -bool false

Then log out and log in.
