Gitbook is sort-of nice but has limitations (esp. regarding comlex book outlines). In particular the extension that is used to syntax highlight LilyPond code doesn't work anymore.

Find a better build tool where the Markdown can conveniently be converted to, e.g. based on

  • Pandoc
  • Hugo
  • other static site builders
