Is it possible to remove packages from startingpoint?

Loving the project, and thought I'd try my hand at creating a custom image.

I want to create an image which removes packages installed in the main image, and installs packages which aren't already present in the image.

i.e. I want to provide this OSTree as a pre-built image:

As far as I understand it, when I base the image on silverblue-main, I can only add more packages to it. Is this the case?

Thanks Jorge. I'll put this project on hold for a moment (I reset all the mutations and am consuming silverblue-main again).

How would I be able to remove repos and packages from the startingpoint? As packages.json isn't seen there. Do I have to pull it into startingpoint somehow?

In addition, I noticed that yafti is capable of overriding the Fedora Firefox, but this wasn't done when I installed with the net installer. Is this something you have to configure for a custom image?

You'd have to manually remove things from the image you pick with an rpm-ostree remove command, and then you can also delete the extra repo files from /etc/yum.repos.d . We leave those in (but disabled) in case the user wants to snag something else from those repos.

It might be less work to start with base-main which is a mostly empty image without a desktop and build what you want from the bottom up, depends on how deep you want to go. Yafti does need to be setup though, it doesn't come on main/nvidia, these instructions show how to do that: https://github.com/ublue-os/yafti#running-from-a-containerfile

That would be most appreciated, we know there are people getting their own images working so everything here is working, we just need to document it better.
