Hi,
thanks for the great work.

I may be kind of a noobie with github. but I can find easly answer to a simple question "how to do I configure the plugin" ?
signalk is ok. influxDB is up and running, plugin is installed.

I know I should find with some googling but if some doc/wiki... exists please lead me to it.

regards and thx
Gildas

So far I've been thinking that the configuration is pretty obvious, because when you install Influxdb you need to set it up and the parameters that you need for the plugin are covered for example at https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/v2/install/#set-up-influxdb.

Which parameters are not obvious what to put there?

Hi Tekki,
I have a look at the link and let you know. I will probably make a short doc how I would expecting it as a noobie.
a bit of context:

  • I am french my english is not to bad but I may some times use incorrect word or phrase so please don't think I ever be rude or impolite
  • I work as a team leader of 4 IT tech guys. I always ask them to make "no brain" doc. the principle is that one guy will use is brain + knowledge + time to install for exe a new monitoring server (Zabbix). the doc must be step by step, with screen shots, so that someone with no brain no knowledge and no time is able to reinstall.
I even do it for myself, docs with screen shots so I can very quickly reinstall without thinking.
of course it is a bit different here but when we look at some questions some times it is not so different.
BBN and openplotter are great projects.
you guys are doing an amazing job. I mean it.
I definitly think that it shoud and would be more popular with a bit more docs, assuming the "end user" know nothing.

If I can help in writing docs I will.
regards
