Question

Hey Frank (deliberately no ping),

Do you need help maintaining (parts of) this library?
I've noticed there are several open PRs that lie around without response.
Anything we (the community that I don't necessarily speak for) can do to lighten your load?

I'd love some communication about this; if the conclusion is that some adapters need to be forked that's of course fine; I'm in no way suggesting that you owe us anything...

If I don't get a response in a few days I'll put in a @ ping here. If that doesn't work we'll go ahead and fork the SftpAdaper.

Thanks for the great work, I think we can honestly say that this is THE library for remote file management in php. 🙏

Hi @SamMousa,

Maintenance help is always appreciated and welcome. There's always a fine line to walk between adhering to the abstraction and the rejection of BC breaks, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to you. I'll check out the SFTP ones.

Some things that I could contribute that might help a bit:

  • Automated releases using semantic commit messages
  • Increase phpstan level

I could try and review a few PRs from a technical / code quality perspective. That should make it easier to consider whether you want the proposed change in the library.
