Where did you come up with the retraction settings included in the profile? I was printing some engraved text prints and the retractions seemed to be causing some print failures because there was too much air being introduced to the extruder melt zone. However I am also just starting to play with the cura slicer so there could of been a number of other issues.
The MBI slicer uses much slower retraction speeds and smaller retraction distances. The speed is 25mm/s and the retraction distance is 1.3 mm. Your profile is using 25mm/s and 5 mm for the 2 values respectively. the melt zone in the rep 2/2x extruder is somewhere in the 5-10 mm range.

This repo is from 2013 so I guess the actual settings are not accurate as of now — I'm not using Replicators now so I wouldn't know what to change but feel free to make a pull request if you have better settings you want to share.
