Dynamic Tiling like DWM and Qtile?

I personally hate dynamic tiling and much prefer StumpWM's manual tiling paradigm, so I would rather this be completely optional. But I would definitely appreciate having an API that is rich enough to allow users to write their own tiling rules (including forms of dynamic tiling) or install tiling extensions written by others.
