Hello.
Thanks for reading my topic.
In Input Settings \ Event Mappings \ Debug keys if selecting erase so to none keys that action will be used in Stella current startup, but when closing not is saved and value return to default keys.
Thus not allow debug keys to none. Only allow remapping to another key.
I use AntimicroX with an PS4 DS4 for games not having an internal autofire feature and combo buttons.
In Stella when pressing some controller buttons is done debug keys actions so need remapping to none.

Have an nice week.

This is currently intentional behavior for all mappings. I have to think about it.

Some emulators lack autofire so AntiMicroX is an good solution.
The user bind an keyboard key in the emulator and the same key configured to use autofire and allow combo keys too.
I use an PS4 DS4 controller with Stella.
L1 L2 R1 R2 are left and right difficulty.
Share and Option are select and reset.
D-pad and left analog are joystick and paddle.
Buttons are joystick button and autofire values - and +
Right analog are keyboard keys home, end , page up and page down. Stella game list has issues using dpad and left analog so Antimicrox was the solution to browse the game list, but happen problems with Stella debug keys.
Remapping debug to other keys help, but can remove keys from others event keys.

This only happens if the default key is not used by a different event. So you can erase debug events and map them to your controller. Then they are not mapped back to their default events.

@Augusto7743 Does that fix your problem? Can we close this issue?

I have configured the debug keys to others keys. No conflict with antimicrox.
That issue can close, but however trying map Right difficulty A-B to PS4 DS4 controller analog L2 and R2 both not are saved. When restarting Stella the configured keys return to default.
In moment using antimicrox to both analog buttons configured to an key.

Which keys are returning to default? Any you map to L2/R2 or only some?
