After running the INSERT statement in the tests verify that the database was properly updated.

I appreciate you took the time to extend the test. However, I do not think this adds much in terms of coverage. Instead, it adds some inconsistency: there is also other functions where something similar happens, but they are not checked, and there is also another database.
