Current lemm.ee infrastructure

For anybody curious, this is what the lemm.ee infrastructure looks like right now:

• Cloudflare for DNS (and all the Cloudflare protections)
• Load balancer
• 2+ servers for handling Lemmy HTTP traffic (scaled up and down as necessary)
• 1+ servers for handling outgoing federation (scaled up and down as necessarsy)
• 1 server for handling Lemmy scheduled tasks
• 1 server for image upload software pict-rs
• 1 relatively beefy dedicated server for our Postgres database
• 1 server for monitoring with openobserve
• Backblaze object storage for uploaded media
• Terraform cloud for infrastructure orchestration
• Postmark for handling e-mail to users

Why GitHub sponsors instead of alternatives?

Unlike most other similar platforms, if you're sending money as a regular user (not as an organization), then GitHub will take 0% fee.
