Check for other issues

  • I've checked for other issues, and none exist.

Issue description

When I try to start Spacedrive, clicking an icon, nothing happens. When I try to start it on the command line, I get following output:
EGLDisplay Initialization failed: EGL_BAD_ACCESS
EGLDisplay Initialization failed: EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED
Cannot create EGL context: invalid display (last error: EGL_SUCCESS)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install DEB package
  2. Try to start it by clicking icon
  3. nothing happens
  4. Try to start in commandline, get error

Hey, thanks for reporting this issue. A couple of questions:

  • Are you running the latest build, 0.4.2?

  • Do you know if you are running Wayland or X11?

  • Does your PC have a Nvidia GPU? If so, can you post the output of nvidia-smi here?

  • Can you try executing glxgears and vkgears in the CLI and see if a window like the one bellow pops up for both commands:

    You may need to install the package mesa-utils before executing the commands

Good day! It was user error, as my rig had uptime for more than 6 months. After restart for gpu driver and kernel updates, Spacedrive started up, olny frailing on video previews (this was
Just fro the record, I installed latest version available, I have Nvidia GPU (GTX1080), and I'm running Wayland.
I still have to wrap my head around on how Spacedrive might improve my file management, but kudos for nice UI! I will keep an eye on your project, as it looks promising.
