Can you make a double sided USB-A and USB-C device easily?

Reposting Ken Taylor's comment from Kickstarter:

Looking at the structure of this with the inner PCB and the carrier. Is the PCB the same for both the USB-A and USB-C models with contacts for both the types of connectors on the one board? and the only difference being the carrier and USB-C connector soldered on?

If so would it be possible to do a carrier with USB-C one end and USB-A the other? one device with both connectors would save carrying adapters or multiple keys.

I realise a new carrier would need designing with traces from the USB-A contacts on the PCB going past the traces that connect to the side buttons and exiting to a USB-A connector moulded in to the opposite end.

or is this the 256K model for kickstarter only listed in the campaign? ;-)

I will share that one of my early prototypes was dual USB-C and USB-A, and certainly someone could make their own based off our design files (hopefully much nicer looking then mine..).

While it's not something we're ready to support yet, maybe in the future! Currently making "micro" sized devices that can be left in a USB-A or USB-C port would be our next priority as far as form factors go.

Maybe you could sell the chip pcbs to people sho wanna do that. Because likely pulling off the chip pcb from a full solo likely ain't too easy.

Hello, I'm a green hand to Solo2. I want to make a solokey2 by myself. However, I find that the design of cavity PCB and NFC antenna is not open-sourced. Could you help me with how to design this? @conorpp
