MITMUNC XIV Speaker: Dr. Erik Lin-Greenberg

- Dr. Erik Lin-Greenberg is an assistant professor of political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is involved in the MIT Security Studies Program. Before this, he studied at MIT as an undergraduate, where he then completed an M.S. in Political Science, later earning a PhD in Political Science at Columbia University. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and maintains his service on the Joint Staff in the Air Force Reserve. Dr. Lin-Greenberg’s current research spans the intersection of technology, media, international politics, and conflict, and includes more narrow focus on topics such as how emerging military technology affects conflict dynamics and use of force. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Lin-Greenberg has published in major journals and policy outlets, taught multiple undergraduate and graduate courses, for which he received the distinguished 2021 Levitan Teaching Award, and serves as a Faculty Fellow for MIT’s Burchard Scholars Program.

+ Christopher Capozzola, a Harvard and Columbia alumnus, is a distinguished professor at MIT, focusing on political and legal history, particularly relating to war and citizenship in America. Recognized for his excellence in teaching with the MacVicar Faculty Fellow award, he now oversees MIT's open education as Senior Associate Dean for Open Learning. Capozzola has authored significant works, including "Uncle Sam Wants You" and "Bound by War," contributing to his reputation in academic and public history circles. He actively engages in public history projects, lectures nationally, and contributes to both scholarly and popular media, establishing him as a leading voice in the study of American military history and citizenship.
