在表格中如何在表头创建跨两行两列的单元格？

我在TeXstudio环境下创建如下表格，编译结果是正确的。
代码：

\begin{table}[!htpb]
	\bicaption{一个带有脚注的表格的例子}{A Table with footnotes}
	\centering
	\begin{threeparttable}[b]
		\begin{tabular}{ccc}
			\toprule
			\multirow{2}{*}{total} & \multicolumn{2}{c}{20\tnote{a}}\\
			\cmidrule(lr){2-3}
			& www & k \\
			\midrule\\
			\bottomrule
		\end{tabular}
		\begin{tablenotes}
			\item [a] the first note.
			\item [b] the second note.
		\end{tablenotes}
	\end{threeparttable}
\end{table}

结果：

当我需要把第一个单元格设计成跨越两行两列时， 代码修改如下：

		\end{tabular}
		\begin{tablenotes}

在 \multicolumn 内使用 \multirow，顺序不能颠倒。

\multicolumn{2}{c}{\multirow{2}{*}{total}}
