considering the readme mentions uploading custom firmware to the PS cam, I am worried the PS cam cannot be used with a Playstation afterwards.

Is this just a "runtime" firmware that runs in RAM only and basically gets erased after powerdown, or is there a way to restore the original firmware?

Hello!
+1 to this question. Should we make some back-up copy of the firmware? Or will the camera be usable on PS with this patch?
Thanks!

Hi,

To be honest I am not sure. You sould ask this here: https://github.com/ps4eye/ps4eye. They are the devs of the firmware. I implemented OpenCV code to get the camera image and get depth from it.

Greetings

The camera will be reset after shutdown (power-off), no backups needed. The firmware patch should be applied each time the camera was powered-off.

Awesome. @sieuwe1 maybe this could be added in the readme at the upload firmware part, this is awesome
