Handles Canvas functions for OpenGL.
Issues:
When resized, the image is drawn twice. Once from the exposecb callback
(from GLX?) and once from above. The exposecb is needed to repaint the
window when it becomes unobscured.
Choosing 'Show Contours' causes two redraws. It appears the first one is
from expose event when the menu goes away.
